About This Property

Whispering Pines is a 150-ac all-inclusive tract of loblolly pine and hardwoods located in Chappells in Newberry County SC. There is a full-time creek and a dry creek on the property. Topography is rolling, with three high points. The owner lives on property. Six (6) miles of firebreaks allow ample access to all stands (farthest stand .35 mile/629 yards from house). Game opportunities include deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, raccoon, coyote, bobcat, fox, and armadillo. Natural food sources include acorn, hickory, black walnuts, persimmon, choke cherry, Chickasaw plum, muscadines, blackberries, Beautyberry; five (5) man-made food plots: soybean, sorghum, clover, chicory, cow peas, chufa, purple top turnips, and a southern wild mix from NWTF; Battery Feeders: Five (5), dispensing shell corn twice a day and cob corn supplement. The owner has registered the property with SCDNR to night hunt coyotes, hogs, and armadillos. Fourteen (14) stands are available (6 double ladders; 2 single ladders; 6 box stands). Box stands are one and two-person capable (bring your child or spouse). This is a semi-guided hunt in that all stands are fixed and established; food plots and feeders are established; shooting lanes are well groomed and established. Hunter will be taken out to their stands and if an animal is shot, the owner can assist in finding/tracking.

This is a truly unique opportunity as these are "semi-guided" hunts, meaning the landowner will work with you to coordinate the best blind or stand for the best experience. Upon purchasing a permit, you will be contacted to line up a mandatory scouting visit ahead of your reservation and from there you will work with the landowner directly to ensure you're well oriented before your hunt.

Property Rules

Contact Support@OutdoorAccess.com after purchasing a permit to schedule a scouting reservation ahead of your visit.
Owner requires hunters to sign “ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY- RELEASE OF LIABILITY – INDEMNIFICATION – LEASE AGREEMENT” document.
Owner requires one (1) scouting appointment prior to hunting to learn property boundaries and stand locations.
We no longer allow thermal optics or suppressors/silencers on weapons.
Conduct a map study prior to your reservation.
Ensure your shots are safe ones.
No fires.
No pets, hounds or dog hunting for deer on property.
No metal detecting or relic hunting
No beverage containers allowed to stand except for personal thermos type containers.
Clean up after yourself and leave only your footprints.
Follow applicable laws and regulations.
Current South Carolina hunting license and tags are required to hunt Whispering Pines.

Do not cut down, or damage in any way, the pine trees.
No one will carry a loaded weapon up into a Ladder or climbing stand. Observe all safety precautions noted in the landowner's pre-reservation info packet.
The owner requires all hunters to check in/out before heading out to stand and at the end of the hunt.
Everyone on the lease MUST BE a member of Outdoor Access in good standing or a minor child under the supervision of a member. No more than one minor children per member.
No subleasing or guiding allowed on the property.
No substituting members. The same members will be part of the lease for the duration of the lease.
Deer season: access to property is 90 min before sunrise (30 min check-in) to 60 min after sunset (plus whatever we need to recover deer).
Turkey season: access to the property is 60 min before sunrise (30 min check-in) to 30 min after sunset (plus whatever we need to recover turkey).
Night hunting: 60 min before sunset to sunrise.
Small game: 90 min before sunrise (30 min check-in) to 60 min after sunset.
Do not block roads or trails when parking.
Park in the designated location noted on the map (outside the owner's home). No driving (trucks, cars, ATV/RTV/UTV, etc.) to stands. All stands are within walking distance.
